Canna Ace of Spades becomes erect on dark burgundy stems and bottle green leaves finely edged in burgundy. Like all heritage canna varieties, Canna Ace of Spades has full flower heads that give a lovely black-red look in bud and grow to a brighter red upon opening. Petal growth has a waved pattern along the outside edges.
