Aster Orpheus is a rich, deep blue purple with golden centres that turn burgundy with age. A medium height easter daisy. You can’t help but stop and stare at the flowers while they’re in full bloom. This is one of the most stunning coloured asters I’ve ever seen. No staking is required.
Asters are extremely easy to grow, tough, and require little upkeep. All that’s required is cutting the flower stalks right to the ground after they have flowered.
It is not advisable to fertilise aster plants excessively; I just apply a 2cm layer of rotted manure around the plants once a year.
